THE BLIND SIDE

Last Saturday I watched THE BLIND SIDE. I have to say that the movie is amazing, it makes you cry and laugh a lot. The best thing about the movie is that the story is a real story, and the performance of Sandra Bullock is awesome. That's why she won the 2009 oscar to the best actress :D

The Blind Side is based on the remarkable true story of Baltimore Ravens offensive left tackle Michael Oher. He grew up in the inner city housing projects with his mother in Memphis, Tennessee aptly named "Hurt Village". Michael's story begins with him being homeless and coming from a broken home with a drug-addicted mother, and an absentee father. Because of his family circumstances, Family Services took control of his life as he was growing up. Unfortunately, he was being bounced around in and out of foster homes, and now as a teenager he has taken it upon himself that he would rather be homeless. By a stroke of luck, and the coach's wish for a player the size of Michael, he ends up enrolling in a private Christian school where the Tuohy kids go. Michael is a quiet person. Michael is befriended by S.J. Tuohy (Jae Head), the youngest Tuohy whose connection to Michael starts the ball rolling

One icy winter night, as Michael is walking down the road to the school gym, where he is sleeping, Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) with her husband Sean (Tim McGraw) and children Jae and Collins (Lily Collins) pick Michael up and take him home for the night. An opportunity arises for Michael to play at university level. However, he needs his grades to improve, so the Tuohys hire a private tuition teacher, outspoken and kind Miss Sue, who will immediately succeed. universities want Michael. S. J. talks to the coaches, and leads the negotiations on Michael's behalf. When Michael gets his grades high enough, he must make a decision, and he does.

Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle..

KARDASHIAN KONFIDENTIAL

What's pink, gold and has lipstick kiss marks all over? The cover of the Kardashian sisters' upcoming book.

Kim, Kourtney and Khloé's sisterhood autobiography,Kardashian Konfidential, will drop in bookstores Nov. 23, but PEOPLE.com has a sneak peek at its jacket, which features the trio pressing their fingers to their mouths.

Not that the reality stars are remaining tight-lipped in the completely authorized book. The volume will feature fun facts about their childhood, beauty and style secrets, wisdom passed down from their late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, and street smarts they picked up from mom Kris.

THROUGH THE STORM by Lynne Spears

Today I've finished reading Through the Storm, the book Britney's mum wrote in 2008. I've always wanted to read it to see their life from her point of view, because as you all know the tabloids really distort reality.

As I read through the book I felt very sorry for waht happend to Britney. It seems she was sorrounded by ver harmful people as Sam Lutfi for example. He was the reason why Britney was hospitalized. He was such a bad influence for her and she didn't even saw it.

Too many people say that Lynne pushed Brit into the fame and they call her stage mom. That's so not true. At the beginning Britney was a very happy girl who worked in waht she loved: singing. However, papparazzi are like vultures and only looked for bad things to tell. And thw worst thing of all that is that we believe what they tell us.

She talk about Britney and Jamie Lynn's pregnancies as well as about his older son.

TEMPUS FUGIT: THE SOUL'S THIEF

A few days ago a started reading again the new Javier Ruescas' book: Tempus Fugit, the soul's thief. He gave it to me the day of our graduation from college, as a present for translating him Tempus Fugit's press kit.

I started reading the book right away. however, a lot of thing happened in June and I couldn't continue reading. I brought the book with me to Ireland, thinking that the job as a course leader would be easy and I would have time to read. It was not that easy, though.

During an excursion to Glendalough, I hurt my left foot big toe and the doctor told me to walk as less as possible. One day, we went to Dublin so the kids could go shopping. As I couldn't walk properly I stayed in a cafeteria next to the Spire. I ordered a Red Tea and a Lactose free Muffin (I'm lactose intolerant :S )

We were supposed to be in Dublin for 4 hours, and I read the whole book just in 3 hours!!!!1 Once you start reading the book you will realize what I'm talking about.

It's such a catching book that you can't stop reading. A good example is one of my students in Ireland. We had gathered to watch an horror film. As he doesn't like horror films I told him to stay in my room and red Tempus Fugit. When the movie finish it was so difficult to get him out of my room taht I had to let him the book to read it at his room. HHe read almost the whole book!!!!!!! Unbelievable.

I do not have much time now to write a synopsys of the book but I will as soon as I'm in Madrid. Keep in touch to read the update next week

MAYNOOTH 2010

It's been weeks since my last post on the blog. I'm in Ireland since 1st of July working as a group leader for Spanish students who want to learn English during the summer. I'm working with the organizaation INTERWAY

I have a group of 8 kids from 15 to 16 years old and they are an amazing group...I couldn't be happier :D and we are living in Maynooth. It's a town 20 minutes far from the center of Dublin.
